300 enthusiasts of Interreg cooperation met on 19-20 October 2022 in Hamburg for the Programme Conference 2022. In an exquisite venue setting, the participants joined an inspiring journey from project achievements to new funding opportunities. 

On 22-23 September, members of the Monitoring Committee jointly selected the best project ideas for funding. 31 applications proved to have the highest potential to drive transition towards a green and resilient Baltic Sea region. Congratulations

The Baltic Sea is a dumpsite for thousands of tons of chemical warfare and conventional munitions. Lumps of toxic mustard gas occasionally emerge in fishing nets and highly flammable phosphorus appears on beaches, causing danger to the people and the environment. For 10 years, partners in CHEMSEA and then DAIMON and DAIMON 2 projects, have been working together to make Baltic waters toxic-free.

Thanks to Interreg Baltic Sea Region, Flensburg used technology to help adolescents to do more physical activity and adopt a healthier lifestyle. Simone Lange, Mayor of Flensburg, will guide us on what the city achieved by cooperating and sharing expertise with partners from across the Baltic Sea region.

Interreg Baltic Sea Region is all about creating opportunities for organisations to connect as if there were no borders. Now, for the first time in the new Programme, the Monitoring Committee members selected projects for funding!

Currently, we are looking for a Communication Assistant at the Rostock-based Managing Authority/Joint Secretariat (MA/JS) of the EU funding programme Interreg Baltic Sea Region.

Our Programme is working with cities and regions across the Baltic Sea to bring forward meaningful initiatives pushing for a greener and more innovative Baltic Sea region while meeting the needs of its residents. Visvaldas Matijošaitis, Mayor of Kaunas City, answers a few questions on how Interreg Baltic Sea Region made a difference for Kaunas and its citizens.
