Second call for first-rate ideas!
More than 200 organisations from ten countries are interested in cooperating on joint challenges and seizing new opportunities. Working together as if there were no borders, they submitted as many as 41 full applications in the second call! All in all, they requested almost EUR 16 million from the European Regional Development Fund and Norwegian national funding.
Priority 1 Innovative societies turned out to be the most popular among the applicants. How about a more detailed picture of Programme objectives? The highest interest attracted: Resilient economies and communities (13 applications), Responsive public services (11 applications) and Circular economy (7 applications).
Profile of our applicants
The organisations that most often took the role of a lead applicant come from Poland, Latvia, Finland and Germany. Most of them represent an education or a research organisation (17) or a local, regional and national public authority/sectoral agency (13). Out of 216 organisations involved in the project partnerships, the majority comes from Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.
Newcomers first!
Small projects in particular help keep networks, build trust and respond to challenges as they come. With an easier structure and shorter timeframes, they are a good testing ground for Interreg.
This seems to be right, as 56% of applying organisations are new to our Programme! We are very proud to bring EU funding closer to people across the Baltic Sea region.
What’s next?
Currently, the applications are undergoing the admissibility check and assessment. Still before summer, the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Monitoring Committee, which represents countries in the Programme, will select the best projects for funding. We keep our fingers crossed!
