Continuing the dialogue with the EUSBSR on future transnational cooperation
What should Interreg Baltic Sea Region, as a transnational cooperation programme, address after 2027? As work on the future Programme progresses, dialogue with regional stakeholders helps us further develop the cooperation needs identified by the Programme countries. The EUSBSR is of particular importance in this process, bringing the macro-regional strategic perspective and helping to ensure that future cooperation needs are firmly rooted in the updated EUSBSR Action Plan and its implementation. The opening of the Danish EUSBSR Presidency provided a timely opportunity to bring this perspective into the ongoing Programme development dialogue.

Interreg Cooperation Day 2026
Celebrating Interreg transnational cooperation!
Every year in September, we showcase the true power of Interreg cooperation: working across borders, sectors and governance levels. But there is more to it than developing solutions together. It is about people and connections, new experiences, and opportunities to encounter different ways of thinking and new approaches. It is about friendship and trust.
This year, Interreg Cooperation Day celebrates its 15th anniversary. On this occasion, we asked our projects, beneficiaries, and others related to our Programme, to share their thoughts on what has been possible thanks to Interreg – and what they would have missed without it.
The incredible number of postcards we received surprised us – and so did the enthusiasm and optimism behind them. They show just how dedicated and forward-looking the people in our Interreg community are – how special YOU are!
Thank you for believing in Interreg – and for bringing its spirit across the region!

RegioStars awards: help BSR Cultural Pearls win!
The RegioStars Awards, organised annually by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy, celebrate outstanding EU-funded projects driving regional development across Europe. This year, our Interreg Baltic Sea Region project BSR Cultural Pearls was selected as a finalist in the category “A Europe closer to citizens”! We invite you now to support for BSR Cultural Pearls in the public vote!
BSR Cultural Pearls engages smaller cities across the Baltic Sea region in the competition to develop action plans that use culture to strengthen local resilience and cohesion. Supported by mentors and a transnational network, participating cities develop and test practical solutions to local vulnerabilities, building trust, encouraging civic participation and improving liveability while setting an example for others to follow.
