A resilient future for coastal communities

A resilient future for coastal communities

In coastal regions around the Baltic Sea, the impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly evident, posing challenges for local communities, businesses, and authorities alike. The BEACH-SOS project aims to confront these challenges head-on, ensuring the sustainability and vitality of beach recreation and tourism in the face of a changing climate. Recently, we had the opportunity to sit down with Rimants Lulis from Saulkrasti Municipality, one of the partners of the project, to discover more about how this project can benefit the municipality and the community in Saulkrasti.

Added value of Interreg

Transnational cooperation in action!

From 24 to 27 June, the European Parliament will host the exhibition “Through the Youth Lens: Stories of Transnational Cooperation” – a powerful showcase of how young people are shaping a more connected, inclusive and forward-looking Europe.

The exhibition is led by Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVYs) – young Europeans who are bringing real stories from the ground into the spotlight. Drawing on their personal experiences in Interreg projects, the IVYs reveal how transnational cooperation is delivering meaningful results across Europe’s 13 cooperation areas – from coastal resilience and green innovation to youth empowerment and digital inclusion.

Transnational cooperation at its best!

The magic of Interreg

Have you ever thought about how unique Interreg transnational cooperation is? Interreg is more than just EU funding. It is about bringing people together: across borders, sectors and governance levels. Is is about uniting people of various cultures, experiences and expertise – in a shared cause, working hand in hand for solutions that the Baltic Sea region truly needs.

This kind of magic we’ve uncovered during the Programme Conference in Tampere – read the article & watch the video to get the flavour of Interreg.
