Green light from the European Commission
After months of preparations, the Interreg Baltic Sea Region has officially been adopted by the European Commission on 2 June 2022. Â
What does it mean in practice?
After receiving an official green light from the European Commission, the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme 2021-2027 can start allocating EU funds to projects whose ideas can drive the transition to a green and resilient Baltic Sea region.
The first project applications have already been collected but only now the Programme’s Monitoring Committee can select the best project ideas.
The process of shaping the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme 2021-2027 with all Programme countries and the European Commission ensures the best use of EU funding. The Programme creates inspiring opportunities for organisations to connect as if there were no borders. The Programme offers more than money: it brings together cultures, perspectives and expertise to get the best ideas and joint solutions.
