The XXVIII Song and XXI Dance Celebration “Iseoma”

This week, the XXVIII Song and XXI Dance Celebration will be held in Tallinn, Estonia. The event organizers have put a lot of effort into ensuring that the big event is held in a sustainable manner.

The reusable soup bowls and trays of Eesti Pandipakend will be used to serve the performers. The festival guests will receive their food in Ringo reusable dishes. At the last youth song and dance celebration, 18 tons of waste was reduced, with most of the savings coming from avoiding disposable dishes. After using the dish, people can get the entire deposit back or donate it to the "Kingitud Elu" Cancer Foundation.

In the framework of the Change(K)now! project, the solution is tested, which nudges the singers and dancers staying in school buildings who order food for themselves to prefer reusable dishes. To do this, they need to scan a QR code that help them easily find caterers who offer reusable dishes on Wolt and Bolt. Ringo reusable packaging can be conveniently returned to the yellow return boxes at the accommodation.

It is worth bringing your own water bottle to the party. There are stationary taps and drinking water barrels in the festival area, and drinking water is free for everyone.

Every party leaves tons of soup behind. To prevent food waste, the party organizers and the Food Bank will donate the leftover soup to social housing this year. This way, they hope to save several tons of soup.

Green ambassadors will be present at the event to help guests sort their trash, find free drinking water, dish return tents, etc.
