Peer-to-peer exchange on CSEI piloting – Latvia and Germany

Within the framework of the RESIST project, the Hamburg Ministry of Economics and Innovation of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg organised a peer-to-peer exchange between project partners representatives and local experts. The meeting took place on 26 June 2024 online. The objective of the meeting was the facilitation of an exchange to enable the experts from Latvia, who are currently in the process of taking the first steps of setting up a Cluster of Social and Ecological Innovation (CSEI) from scratch, to learn from the example in Hamburg, where a support structure for social innovation has already been set up. The experts from Hamburg shared insights about the process of setting up the organisational structure, explained the crucial role Hamburg's Social Entrepreneurship Strategy played and also highlighted what did not work in their specific context and by this, sensitised the Latvian experts for potential pitfalls. The exchange is considered a starting point and will be continued during the upcoming in-person project meeting planned for September 2024 and beyond.
