We are excited to announce the first BEACH-SOS workshop titled “BEACH-SOS Coastal Tourism and Climate Change in Latvia ” which will take place in Saulkrasti, Latvia. The workshop aims to bring together local authorities, businesses, and communities to discuss the challenges faced by the Baltic Sea coastal tourism industry and to develop sustainable solutions for the future. The workshop will also address the topic of climate change adaptation in coastal tourism. The Baltic Sea coastal tourism industry is facing several challenges due to climate change, including rising sea levels, increased frequency of extreme weather events, and ocean acidification. The workshop aims to bring together local authorities, businesses, and communities to discuss climate challenges and to develop sustainable solutions for the future.
The workshop will be held over three days, starting from Tuesday, January 23rd, to Thursday, January 25th. The sessions will be as follows:
The workshop will be an excellent opportunity to learn about Baltic Sea coastal tourism and to exchange ideas with local public authorities, local communities and experts in the field about what could be needed to adapt to climate change.
