The Work Towards the Development of the Brand for the Baltic Sea as a Single Sailing Destination has started

On February 22-23, 2023, partners of the BaltSusBoating 2030 project, industry experts and representatives of marinas has gathered in Riga to start a discussion on the development of the Baltic Sea as a single and sustainable sailing destination.

The first day of the event was dedicated to what branding is, its components, discussion on region values and common vision, target audience and developing messages that characterize the sailing destination in the Baltic Sea.

 

The project partners have presented their work on developing the network of marina in the countries, marketing activities and discussed the further plans on the development of the brand for the Sailing at the Baltic Sea. A great attention in all the discussions is paid to introducing of the sustainability as a key element to the development of the region.

The Baltic Sea region, and its more than 1,000 marinas, developed infrastructure, diverse nature and rich cultural life, is an attractive sailing destination, but lags behind international competitors in terms of recognition and utilization of economic potential.

At the end of the seminar, the participants agreed on tasks so that by this year work on brand development would be completed in Autumn.
