Social Innovation Capacity Building Workshop Connects Innovation Actors Across Europe
03 June 2026
On 3 June 2026, the RESIST partnership successfully organised the Social Innovation Capacity Building Workshop, bringing together innovation support organisations, policy makers, NGOs, social enterprises, cluster organisations, researchers, and other social innovation stakeholders from across Europe.
The online event attracted 43 registered participants representing a wide range of organisations and countries, demonstrating a growing interest in strengthening social innovation ecosystems and making innovation support systems more accessible and inclusive. The workshop reached audiences not only from the Baltic Sea Region but also beyond Europe, with participants joining from as far as New Zealand, highlighting the international relevance of the topics addressed by the RESIST project.
Exploring Practical Solutions for Social Innovation
The workshop focused on practical tools and approaches developed within the RESIST project to help innovation support actors better engage with social innovators and social enterprises and create greater societal impact through innovation.
Participants were introduced to five RESIST solutions developed and tested by project partners:
- How to make innovation socialÂ
- Train the Trainers Module
- Cluster for Social and Ecological Innovation (CSEI) GuideÂ
- Social Innovation Impact Measurement Framework
- Mission-Oriented Innovation Policy (MOIP) Guide
During the plenary session, project partners presented the purpose, development process, and practical application of each solution, demonstrating how they can support organisations working within innovation ecosystems, regional development, social entrepreneurship, and social innovation.
An important message throughout the workshop was that all five RESIST solutions are freely available for use to anyone who is interested in the any solution. Participants were encouraged to explore, adapt, and apply the tools within their own organisations and regional contexts. By making these solutions openly accessible, the RESIST partnership aims to ensure that the project’s results continue to create value and strengthen social innovation ecosystems well beyond the project’s lifetime.
