Technical details

On 27 May, the Kurzeme Planning Region hosted an inspiring seminar as part of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region RESIST project.

The event marked an important milestone in the development of setting up a Cluster of Social and Ecological Innovation (CSEI). The objective of this cluster initiative is to build structures and foster collaboration, sustainable business practices and social innovation across sectors.

The seminar brought together a diverse group of participants—ranging from entrepreneurs to NGO leaders and public officials—including representatives from CSR Latvia, Vegan Fox, ĪzīPīzī, Royal Pooling Group, and others. Together, they explored how businesses can contribute to solving social and environmental challenges through value-driven strategies.

Key discussions focused on sustainability reporting, circular economy models, and integrating ecological values into core business practices. The event underscored the importance of structured sustainability frameworks, purpose-led business models, and resilient supply chains as central pillars for the emerging CSEI cluster in Kurzeme.

To ensure the next steps reflect regional priorities, participants were invited to share their perspectives via a short survey. Insights gathered will guide the development of pilot activities and help shape a strong regional cooperation network.
