RESIST Partner Meeting and Transnational Strategy Lab in Vilnius
09 October 2025
The event was hosted by the Lithuanian Innovation Centre and brought together all RESIST project partners from across the Baltic Sea Region to exchange experiences and ideas on how to strengthen social innovation ecosystems and further develop mission-oriented approaches within the RESIST project.
Transnational Strategy Lab: New Impulses for Mission-Oriented Innovation
The lab on 30 September opened with insights into the EU policy context on Smart Specialisation and Social Innovation, presented by Tomislav Pinter (DG Regional and Urban Policy) and Michael Grosse (DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion) from the European Commission.
Regional case studies illustrated how social innovation is already being embedded in innovation ecosystems across the Baltic Sea Region:
-
Justė Rakštytė-Hoimian (Lithuanian Innovation Centre) presented Lithuania’s Smart Specialisation Strategy.
-
Dr. Ieva Adomaitytė-Subačienė (Innovate, Vilnius University) shared insights from the Sustainability and Future Society Programme.
In the interactive “Re-Imaginatorium” sessions, facilitated by Joel Veborg (Malmö University), participants developed creative scenarios for the future of innovation ecosystems across Europe focusing on social innovation and social entrepreneurship.
The Consortium Meeting that followed provided space for joint work on the final revision of the project outputs and the planning of the activities in the project’s final year.
Beyond the workshops, participants enjoyed the opportunity to explore Vilnius and experience its vibrant innovation scene and cultural heritage.
The RESIST partners left the meeting with new inspiration, concrete next steps, and strengthened collaboration across the Baltic Sea Region. The next partner meeting will take place in Gdánsk, March 2026.
