PV4All: Kick-Off-Meeting in Hamburg
06 December 2022
The second focus of the first day was the presentation of the project’s objectives and planned activities, the reporting obligations as well as the tasks of the individual partners. Finally, the national program and the Hamburg framework program of integrated district development based on it were also presented by the Lawaetz Foundation. They form one of the foundations of the local activities planned in Hamburg to reach out into neighborhoods and promote the installation of photovoltaic systems.
On the second day, a study trip was organised to show pilot projects in Hamburg concerning advice on solar systems or the installation of the modules themselves. The tour started at the exhibition of the Hamburg Energy Guides (‘Hamburger Energielotsen’), where private individuals and building experts can view models for energy-efficient modernisation and construction and receive advice. One section of the exhibition is dedicated to systems and components for solar power generation and storage. For the PV4All team, this was particularly interesting and inspiring to find ideas for local activities in the partner countries to promote the use of solar power.
Afterwards, the partners visited the Energy Bunker in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg. The energy bunker is a model project for the inner-city production of regenerative energy. With a solar casing on its roof and southern side, the Energy Bunker marks an important milestone on the road towards supplying the Elbe islands with renewable forms of energy. With a combination of solar energy, biogas, wood chips, and waste heat from a nearby industrial plant, the Energy Bunker is set to supply most of the neighbouring district with heat, while also feeding renewable power into the electricity grid.
