Meet-Up in Göteborg

In August, the MI-RAP partners came together in Gothenburg for their final partnership meeting to reflect on three years of collaboration, share key learnings and explore the impact of MI-RAP across their regional music ecosystems. The two-day programme combined workshops and a study visit through Gothenburg’s music ecosystem with discussions on the project’s legacy and how the collaboration and exchange can continue through the Music Cities Network.

In August, the MI-RAP partners came together in Gothenburg for the project’s fifth and final partnership meeting. After three years of collaboration, the two-day meeting offered an opportunity to look back at what MI-RAP has achieved across the different partner regions, reflect on key learnings and discuss how the work can continue beyond the project period.

A central part of the meeting focused on how MI-RAP has influenced the partners’ local and regional music ecosystems. In tandem sessions, partners exchanged experiences on tools and formats they had developed, tested or adapted, as well as trainings, events and network activities that had taken place throughout the project. The discussions highlighted which approaches had proved particularly useful and which ideas partners would like to continue or explore after MI-RAP.

The programme also took the partners outside the meeting room for a study visit through Gothenburg’s music ecosystem, providing insights into the local music sector and an opportunity to connect the project discussions with the host region.

On the second day, the focus shifted towards reflection and the future. Partners jointly discussed lessons learned, the impact MI-RAP has had in their regions and their personal experiences from working together over the past three years. The consortium also looked at results from the project’s Transmission Phase and prepared for the final dissemination activities.

An important final discussion centred on the collaboration with the Music Cities Network (MCN) and how the partnership can help carry MI-RAP’s work forward. Together with MCN Managing Director Lena Ingwersen, the partners explored what they can contribute to the network, what they need from future collaboration and which concrete next steps could create value for both MI-RAP partners and the wider network.

As the final partnership meeting of MI-RAP, Gothenburg was both a moment to reflect on three years of joint work and a starting point for what comes next: keeping the connections, knowledge and tools developed through MI-RAP alive and continuing the exchange between music ecosystems across Europe.
