About institution:

It is a non-governmental and a non-profit organization established by law to represent the general interests of businesses.  SCCIC operates in Siauliai and Telsiai counties of Lithuania.

The chamber promotes sustainable business development, entrepreneurship, internationalization, networking, innovations and social responsibility through activities and services rendered, puts efforts to increase synergy between education providers and companies. SCCIC works in close cooperation with regional and national government also has a representative at European Economic and Social Committee.

Chamber is associated at different levels with strong international business organizations such as Eurochambres, SMEunited and Baltic Sea Chambers of Commerce Association. Businesswomen, IT professionals and other networks operate within the Chamber. SCCIC has outstanding competences in managing and implementing EU funded national and international projects, and important also reliable partners in Lithuania and Europe.

SCCIC has started to develop competences portfolio on water microplastic pollution topic since project FanplessTic – sea start in 2018. Also implements project ReNutriWater on water reuse.

People:

There are three representatives from SCCIC involved in the project – Daiva Jonuskiene – Project Manager, Jolanta Norvaisiene – Head of Telsiai Branch and Alfredas Jonuska – Director General of Siauliai Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts.

Daiva has significant experience in management and implementation of EU funded international projects, also those of BSR Interreg program, for example FanPlessTic – sea of the previous period, that was extremely helpful to study and communicate Microplastic pollution of water.

Alfredas has been managing EU funded projects for more than 20 years, has knowledge in water debris, represents business community not only in Lithuania, but also in European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels.

Jolanta has a good organizational skills and perfectly knows the community and on spot situation in the Telsiai region, territory of associated project partner Telsiai District municipality.

Project tasks:

SCCIC has started to develop competences portfolio on water microplastic pollution topic since project FanplessTic – sea start in 2018. Also implements project ReNutriWater on water reuse.

In Lakes connect project, they focus on researching lakes in the region Telsiai in Lithuania.

SCCIC has a well-developed cooperation network of businesses, governmental, educational institutions and NGOs, so will communicate stakeholders and engage relevant organizations to address a common challenge, reach out to target groups in order to bring willingness to act for a real change. In this project SCCIC is a leader in second group of activities – Establishing cooperation and building networking hub for units interested in lakes protection.
