The Liveability Project is coming to an inspiring close! After three years of exploring what makes a city truly liveable, testing new approaches in six pilot and six twin cities, and developing innovative tools such as the Charter for Designing Liveable Cities and the Liveable Cities Label, the project will celebrate its final conference in Riga, Latvia.

 

Conference Theme: Together We Grow

On 12–13 November 2025, participants will gather at the Latvian Railway History Museum to share insights, exchange ideas, and reflect on the future of urban living.

Programme Highlights:

  • Day 1: Tina Saaby, Director of the Danish Town Planning Institute and Former City Architect of Copenhagen, will join Renāte Lagzdiņa, Director of the University of Latvia Botanical Garden, in a keynote conversation on “The Long Bloom: Past Lessons and Future Visions for Liveable Cities.”
  • Day 2: The Liveability Talks Live Session will feature Nikolaj Sveistrup, Founder of URBAN AGENDA in Denmark, together with Young Urban Planners from the City of Gothenburg, Sweden, and Caroline Paulick-Thiel and Blasius Walch from Politics4Tomorrow, Germany.
