HyTruck Partners met in Vilnius

From 8 to 10 April 2025, HyTruck project partners gathered in Vilnius, Lithuania, for the 5th Partner Meeting, hosted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania.

8 April – Workshop on Transnational Spatial Development Concept

The meeting began with the second workshop on the Transnational Spatial Development Concept for Hydrogen Refuelling Stations (HRS). Participants were presented with:

  • Assessment results of HRS deployment across the Baltic Sea Region and the outline of the Transnational Spatial Development Concept.
  • Preliminary findings of the study “Input to National and Transnational Funding and Policy Programmes”.

Following the presentations, participants engaged in thematic group discussions on AFIR (Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation) requirements, Public funding schemes for HRS and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV), Renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO), Creating HRS-ready regional environments and the importance of technological openness.

9 April – Study Visits

On the second day, participants visited the Faculty of Transport Engineering at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH). University representatives introduced their current project

„Implementation of Green Hydrogen in the Transport Sector.” Guests from Vilnius District Heating Company presented their green hydrogen production plans and upcoming HRS initiatives in Vilnius.

The day continued with a visit to SG Dujos Auto’s Alternative Fuels Laboratory in Pabradė, where participants explored existing hydrogen projects in public transport and viewed the laboratory’s advanced facilities.

10 April – Steering Committee and Final Steps

On the final day, Project Steering Committee meeting was held. Project partner discussed the final steps of the project implementation and the issues of the final conference, which will be held in Helsinki in November.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania is grateful to all Hytruck project partners for three productive and inspiring days in Vilnius.
