Experts Tackle Polish Farmers’ Challenges in the Scientific Conference

Polish experts in agriculture, water management, and environmental protection gathered in Puławy for a national conference focused on future challenges and development paths for farmers.

On September 17–19, 2025, the 11th Scientific Conference of the Polish Society of Agronomy was held in Puławy, Poland. Organized by the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (IUNG), under the title “Contemporary Challenges for Farmers – Perspectives and Directions of Development”, the event brought together Polish researchers and professionals working in the fields of agriculture, water management, and environmental protection.

The conference program addressed topics such as sustainable resource management, innovations in crop production technology, fertilization in both historical and contemporary perspectives, nutrition, and food safety.

Award-Winning Poster Highlights GYPREG Project Results

Numerous papers were presented, along with a poster session showcasing the results of the GYPREG project. Three posters were awarded as the best in show, including one prepared by the team from the Kraków Branch of ITP-PIB, entitled “Reducing Phosphorus Leaching and Soil Erosion Processes in Agricultural Areas”.

In addition to the scientific program, the conference also included visits to the Czartoryski Museum, the Museum of Polar Research in Puławy, and a study visit to JMP Flowers near Dęblin. The conference also provided an opportunity for individual discussions with experts from various fields of agricultural sciences.
