Green Innovation in Action: Advancing Sustainable Industrial Development in Klaipėda

The event opened with welcome remarks from the Klaipėda City Municipality and the Ministry of Economy and Innovation. Participants were then introduced to the achievements and next steps of the GreenIndustrial Areas project, highlighting key results and upcoming activities.

A dedicated session focused on the Klaipėda Free Economic Zone (FEZ), presenting its green transformation strategy and practical approaches to decarbonisation. Insights were shared on European trends in sustainable industry, as well as experiences from the Northern Netherlands on driving green industrial growth.

In the afternoon, discussions turned to future-oriented cooperation. Speakers addressed partnerships for sustainable and innovative business development in 2026, including the role of artificial intelligence in green industrial parks. The programme concluded with an overview of upcoming 2026 calls under Horizon Europe, outlining new funding opportunities for research and innovation.

The meeting provided a platform for knowledge exchange, cross-sector dialogue, and strengthening partnerships to accelerate the transition towards climate-neutral and competitive industrial areas.
