Vegan food tasting event at Kuopio Classical High School Promotes Healthy Eating Habits

Savonia University of Applied Sciences’ FoodLoops project recently hosted a successful vegan food tasting event during the well-being day at Kuopio Classical High School. This engaging event provided students with the opportunity to explore new foods and expand their eating habits by sampling a variety of vegan alternatives, including plant-based cheeses and sausages, oat-based vegetable balls, and an assortment of fresh vegetables.
Many students encountered these products for the first time, and the tastings ignited curiosity and enthusiasm. Interestingly, despite the fact that most participants do not typically purchase vegan products, they approached the tastings with an open mind. Events like this play a crucial role in raising awareness about plant-based options and encouraging more sustainable food choices among young people, fostering a greater appreciation for healthy eating.
