Into Seinäjoki piloted a new competence assessment tool for business support organizations!
24 September 2025
Business support organizations need to constantly update their knowledge and skills. Since autumn 2023, Into Seinäjoki has been part of the eRural Resilience project, which strengthens both Into’s expertise and the tools it uses when supporting companies. The project focuses on four key themes:
• business
• digital competencies
• natural resources
• networking
The first outcome of the project is a new competence assessment tool designed for business supporters. Into’s customer-facing experts have already participated in the survey, and together we have reviewed the results. The findings were encouraging across all areas. At the same time, we acknowledged that digital competencies and business development, in particular, require continuous focus and learning.
We do not position ourselves as specialists in natural resources, nor is that our goal. Instead, we maintain strong connections with local experts so that entrepreneurs can be referred to the right person when needed.
“One of the development proposals in the evaluation was to increase knowledge-sharing. We acted on this immediately: as part of our weekly meetings, each Into employee now takes turns presenting a topic from their own area of work,” says Leena Perämäki, CEO of Into Seinäjoki.
The assessment tool serves two main purposes.
- Individuals can complete the self-assessment and receive a personal summary with suggestions for further development.
- In addition, the tool can be used to map the collective competencies of an entire organization—each team member fills in the questionnaire, and a summary of the organization’s results can be requested through the eRural Resilience project partners.
