Energy Efficiency Insights from Poland’s Suburban Belt

In a recent interview conducted by the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) cooperation initiative, Mr. Jarosław Szlachetka from the Otulina Podkrakowska Association shared insights into their energy efficiency efforts. The association, representing municipalities in the suburban area around Kraków, Poland, has been actively working to implement sustainable energy solutions in their region.

Key to their mission, Jarosław Szlachetka emphasized:

“We decided to participate in the Easy Energy project because we see a great need to support our municipalities and small businesses in the area of energy efficiency. We are aware that many of our public buildings and local businesses have not yet implemented energy-saving measures.”

The significance of international cooperation was highlighted when he noted:

“A transnational project is crucial for us because cooperation with partners from different countries allows us to exchange experiences and implement best practices. By participating in the Easy Energy project, we have the opportunity to learn from other municipalities and companies in the Baltic Sea region that face similar challenges.”

This interview was conducted as part of the BSR’s ongoing documentation of regional sustainability initiatives, showcasing how cross-border cooperation can drive local energy efficiency improvements.
