Easy Energy Success Stories Showcased at Panevėžys District Municipality

On 22 April 2026, the regional event “Lengva energija. Sėkmės istorijos” (“Easy Energy. Success Stories”) took place at Panevėžys District Municipality Hall, bringing together 43 participants from across Lithuania, including representatives of local authorities, educational institutions, SMEs, public institutions, and building owners from the Panevėžys, Zarasai, Biržai, Ignalina, and Vilnius regions.

The half-day programme featured a project presentation, success stories, guest speakers, and an award ceremony recognising the three best implemented energy-saving practices in the region: Dembava Nursery School “Smalsutis”, Dembava Lower Secondary School, and Pažagieniai Nursery School.

Representing the Lithuanian project partners, Domas Jankevičius, Senior Specialist at the Construction and Infrastructure Division of Panevėžys District Municipality Administration, presented “Energy Savings with Small Investments”, introducing the project, its solutions, and achieved results.

 

The Lithuanian Energy Agency, an associated project partner, contributed with two presentations. Agnė Stonienė, Acting Head of the Energy Efficiency Competence Centre, spoke on “Efficient Energy Consumption: When Habits and Responsibility Become Conscious Energy-Saving Actions”, while Agnė Bagočiutė, Director of the Lithuanian Energy Agency, addressed “The Effective Role of Municipalities in the Energy Sector: Energy-Saving Measures and the Expansion of Renewable Energy Sources”.

As part of ongoing cooperation with Biržai District Municipality under the Interreg BSR Energy Transition project Flip-EC, Vaiga Landauskienė, Senior Specialist at the Education, Culture and Sports Department, shared insights through “Analysis of Energy-Saving Behaviour: The Case of Biržai District Municipality”.

Rounding out the programme, Eimantas Bručas, Engineer at the Centre for Applied Research and Innovation at Panevėžys College, delivered “How Motion Is Converted into Energy”, introducing innovations in accessible energy generation.
