Easy Energy Wraps Up in Riga with Final Workshop and Conference

Riga, 28 to 29 September 2026

After nearly three years of cooperation, the Interreg Baltic Sea Region project Easy Energy met for the last time in Riga. The final workshop and the international conference took place alongside the Hanse-Parlament General Assembly at the Wellton Riverside Spa Hotel.

On 28 September, project partners held their last Easy Energy workshop to review results and plan the next steps. In the afternoon, the consortium visited Adazi municipality to see local energy efficiency work in practice.

The final conference “Energy Solutions for Public Buildings & SMEs” followed on 29 September. It brought together representative

s of municipalities, business chambers, universities and vocational schools. Ruzanna Grigorjana (Policy Area Coordinator Energy), Sebastian Hentsch (Interreg Baltic Sea Region), Ronalds Saksons (Riga Planning Region) and Dr. Max Hogeforster (Hanse-Parlament) opened the event.

The first session showed why small public buildings and SMEs are often left behind in the energy transition, and how Easy Energy responds with simple, low-cost measures. ZEBAU and Hanse-Parlament presented the Easy Energy Blueprints and the Energy Practitioner training, which prepares local experts to help schools, libraries, community centres, museums and small companies cut their energy use.

In the second session, partners from Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland shared examples of Easy Energy solutions put into practice. The conference ended with the Easy Energy Awards, a Memorandum of Understanding signing to carry the results onto the EU stage, and an invitation to join the EnTRA Knowledge Community.

Easy Energy runs until October 2026. Its tools and results will remain available to municipalities and small businesses across the Baltic Sea Region.
