A glimpse of Interreg magic
Technical details

On 21 May 2025, the DistanceLAB project participated in the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme Conference held in Tampere, Finland. The event brought together project partners, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the region to reflect on the progress and future of transnational cooperation.

As part of the conference program, DistanceLAB joined the parallel session titled “Powerful spells”, which focused on how Interreg projects deliver tangible results that impact everyday life across the Baltic Sea Region. The session highlighted practical examples of cooperation and innovation, offering valuable insights into how projects contribute to broader regional development goals.

The conference opened with remarks from Anna-Kaisa Ikonen, Finland’s Minister for Local and Regional Government, and a video greeting by Raffaele Fitto, European Executive Vice-President for Cohesion and Reforms. Throughout the day, participants explored the current state of the Interreg BSR Programme, discussed future directions beyond 2027, and engaged in networking and knowledge exchange.

We are grateful to the organisers and fellow participants for the opportunity to share experiences and strengthen connections within the Interreg community.
