City in transition towards circularity: How Copenhagen is shifting from single-use to reusable?
02 July 2025
Cities across Europe are increasingly looking for ways to reduce waste and promote sustainability, especially in the food delivery and catering sectors. Copenhagen is one of the cities actively testing solutions to replace single-use packaging with reusable alternatives.
In this video interview, we speak with Sarosh Qureshi, Special Consultant – Green Business, City of Copenhagen, partner of the Change(K)now! project. He shares insights on current practices, the changes they are implementing, and the challenges they face. The interview also highlights how transnational cooperation supports their efforts toward a more circular and sustainable food system.
As Sarosh Qureshi reflects: “Through the Change(K)now! project, it’s been incredibly valuable to exchange experiences and see how different cities are working within their own frameworks. The opportunity to access funding and test new approaches with our partners is important — but even more so is the chance to learn from one another across the consortium.”
