Change(K)now! podcast series: the final episodes are out
28 October 2026
The last two episodes of our podcast series on circular food packaging systems are out now, completing the three-part series. After looking at how cities can reduce single-use food packaging, we turn to events and food markets: two settings where reusable solutions can reach many people at once and help change everyday habits.
Episode 2: From single-use to reuse at events
How can festivals, conferences and public events reduce waste and make reusable systems work in practice? Our guest is Frithjof Vogelsang, Circular Economy Expert at Netzwerk Green Events in Hamburg, one of our project partners.
In the episode, Frithjof shares what it takes to move away from single-use food packaging at events, what successful reuse systems look like, and how events can inspire visitors to adopt more circular and sustainable habits.

Episode 3: Making reuse part of everyday shopping
How can food markets reduce single-use food packaging and make reusable solutions part of everyday shopping? In the final episode, we talk to Heidrun Fammler, Chairperson of the Board at Baltic Environmental Forum Germany, and Jahan Khodagholi, core member of the SURI Signature team, both involved in the Change(K)now! project, about introducing reusable packaging at food markets in Hamburg.
They share the lessons learned from Hamburg’s pilot, how vendors and customers can make reuse part of their routine, and how collaboration can help change habits.
