Survey Launched on Sustainable Urban Mobility and Logistics Planning in the Baltic Sea Region
05 December 2025
We invite local and regional authorities to share insights on sustainable urban mobility and logistics planning.
BSR Urban Mobility platform project has launched a survey to define the state of the art in sustainable urban mobility and logistics planning in the Baltic Sea region cities and regions. The survey is open until December 19th 2025. Access the survey here: Survey on sustainable urban mobility and logistics planning
The insights collected will help identify cities’ key policy priorities and challenges – and tailor the project activities to cities’ needs. The survey also examines the level of awareness and preparedness to respond to the revised TEN-T requirements among BSR urban nodes. Â
Urban Nodes are required to adopt Sustainable Urban Mobility plans (SUMPs) by 2027, collect and provide mobility data to the European Commission and establish a multimodal mobility hub by 2030 and a freight terminal by 2040. Â
Survey findings will be also shared with EU and national stakeholders, ensuring cities’ voices are heard in shaping future urban mobility policies.  Â
BSR Urban Mobility supports cities to tackle urban mobility related challenges and promotes well proven solutions. Â
From 2026, the project offers opportunities for networking, peer learning and capacity building for experts working with mobility and logistics planning on local and regional level.  Â
The activities will cover 4 themes:Â Â
- Urban nodes & TEN-T;
- Sustainable Urban Mobility and Logistic planning,Â
- Planning and promoting the use of active modesÂ
- and Multimodal hubs and solutions for urban logistics.Â
Insights from cities are crucial for ensuring that the activities are tailored to local needs.  Â
Findings from the survey and focus group interviews with selected urban nodes (to be conducted in 2026) will be compiled together into a State of the art report on sustainable urban mobility and logistics planning in the BSR. The report will be made publicly available in 2026. Â
