BSR HyAirport project participates in hydrogen aircraft ground tests at Rotterdam The Hague Airport
26 May 2026
On the 21 May 2026, AeroDelft successfully carried out ground tests with a hydrogen aircraft at Rotterdam The Hague Airport. The test included refuelling with gaseous hydrogen, testing of the propulsion system and a taxi run in a real operational airport environment. The tests are part of the DutcHâ‚‚ Aviation Hub project.
The BSR HyAirport project was kindly invited to attend this test activity. Several project partners were present on site to observe the operations and gain first-hand insights into the practical implementation of hydrogen technologies at an airport. The experience provided valuable input for the ongoing work within the project and strengthened the exchange between initiatives working towards similar goals.

In addition, the partners of BSR HyAirport attended the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam the day before. As part of the summit, the partners were invited to the DutcHâ‚‚ Aviation Hub Progress Event, which provided a great opportunity to exchange ideas with experts from the hydrogen and aviation industries.
The BSR HyAirport project would like to extend our sincere thanks to Rotterdam The Hague Airport for the invitation. The opportunity to witness these developments in a real operational setting was highly appreciated.
