BSR HyAirport Partnership meeting at Tallinn Airport
13 June 2025
On June 11 and 12, a meeting of the project partners took place in Tallinn. The two-day event was hosted by Tallinn Airport and brought together project partners, legal experts and regional stakeholders to share progress, align priorities and plan the next phases of the project. Experts from Estonia, Finland, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Latvia and Lithuania discussed hydrogen supply chains, legal challenges and future opportunities.
One of the key outcomes was a comprehensive legal analysis by Eversheds Sutherland Bitans, which identified regulatory barriers and concluded that the introduction of hydrogen at airports is feasible with focused and consistent work once the necessary infrastructure is in place. In addition, other initial findings such as a demand model for scheduled and non-scheduled flights as well as an analysis of local production and storage were talked about.
Moreover, a meeting with associated organizations and Estonian Stakeholders was held to present the objectives and structure of the project and discuss the preliminary results of the working group Legal framework.
The knowledge shared and decisions made during the event will guide the transition to the next project phase, which will focus on pilot activities and continued stakeholder collaboration.
