The 4th Semester of the BSR DeepTech Launch project was a turning point: a phase of reflection, fine-tuning, and sharing results with the wider community.

In early spring, partners took stock of the knowledge gained from the workshops held across the region. The 2nd Feedback Survey, carried out in March and April, confirmed that the approach was delivering tangible results. Participants reported significant growth in entrepreneurial knowledge and confidence, with satisfaction levels reaching as high as 97–100% in some countries. At the same time, the survey highlighted areas for improvement – particularly the need for more practical resources and diverse information sources. These insights provided a solid foundation for the next phase of work on the DeepTech Toolbox.

April brought the 5th meeting of the International Steering Committee, held online. Here, the German partner presented the first draft of the Toolbox interface, sparking discussions on layout, usability and content structure. The session ensured that the tool would not only be rich in information but also accessible and user-friendly for its future audience: young researchers and early-stage entrepreneurs.

The project stepped into the spotlight in May during its major Dissemination Event in Warsaw, hosted in the framework of the BEI Forum. The gathering combined a high-level presentation of the DeepTech Toolbox with discussions involving regional authorities, incubators, accelerators and innovation stakeholders. Beyond the official sessions, partners deepened their collaboration through informal exchanges, including a reception at the German Embassy, which reinforced the project’s cross-border spirit. A follow-up study visit to the Photonics Job Fair and Innovation Incubator at the Centre for Innovation of Warsaw University of Technology added valuable exposure to the local innovation landscape.

The reception at the German Embassy in Warsaw gathered partners alongside German and Polish stakeholders, entrepreneurs, and R&D organisations. A keynote from OpTecBB highlighted Germany’s approach to photonics innovation and the importance of transnational collaboration, while the evening reinforced diplomatic ties and dialogue on deep-tech entrepreneurship across the Baltic Sea Region.

The semester closed in June with the 6th ISC meeting, held in Warsaw. This milestone was dedicated to steering the project towards completion. The Toolbox web platform was nearly ready, with content uploaded and last corrections in progress, while the accompanying Toolbox Manual was finalised and translated into German and Lithuanian. Partners also coordinated the final reporting process, aligning deadlines to ensure smooth delivery in the final semester.

From refining the Toolbox and validating its relevance, to sharing outcomes with a broad community and preparing for the project’s closure, the 4th Semester marked a decisive chapter in BSR DeepTech Launch. It brought the project closer than ever to its ultimate goal: equipping the next generation of deep-tech entrepreneurs in the Baltic Sea Region with practical tools to transform science into business.
