LEAGUE on the Move
23 October 2025
The LEAGUE of Game Development Hubs, Europe’s regional game ecosystem support network, initiated and driven by a consortium of Baltic Sea Game players collaborating in the co-funded EU Interreg BSR project “BSG Go! Scaling-up Baltic Sea Game Support for a Resilient Game Industry”, is on the move. Several members and friends of the League will be meeting at the Games Industry Conference GIC in Poznan to exchange ideas and discuss strategies to strengthen the regional game development ecosystems through community building and dedicated support infrastructures. Hubs have seen an increased interest by people and organisations committed to supporting their regional game industry. Often they have evolved from game incubators and accelerators, sometimes also from network organisations or co-working environments. There is no common approach or formula on how to establish a stable hub whose survival would not constantly be jeopardised and hang over them like the sword of Damocles. BSG Go! invited LEAGUE members and other people invested in supporting their game sectors, in particular the vulnerable tiers (start-ups, Indies, scale-ups), to jointly discuss their challenges and visions, their take on how to improve the impact and survival of nascent hubs on 23 October 2025 14-16h CET at GIC Poznan: Workshop “Shaping the Future of Game Community Support”. Facilitators are: James Newnorth (Spelkollektivet), Jonne Taivassalo (Espoo Game Hub), Pedro Zambon (IGDA), Oliver Langowski (medianet-bb) and Christine Sauter(BGZ Berliner Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit).
