Courage to Talk About Real Problems

The panelists agreed: true innovation begins with courage. It takes openness and trust on both sides – companies must be brave enough to reveal their real challenges, and innovators must dare to propose unconventional solutions. As one speaker put it, “You need guts on both sides to have an honest conversation about what’s not working – only then can real change happen.”

Established companies often struggle to think “out of the box”, while startups face barriers entering certain markets. That’s where international collaboration becomes a game changer. It opens doors, connects expertise, and enables technology transfer beyond borders – making transformation possible even in traditionally closed industries.

Smart Solutions, Great Teams, and Resilient Organizers

Throughout the discussion, panelists highlighted the importance of *smart solutions* – not just in technology, but in collaboration. Many challenge providers described the joy of discovering “great team energy” during BioBoosters hackathons, a defining factor that separates good innovation experiences from average ones.

For organizers, resilience was the key word: building trust, staying flexible, and accepting that *many no’s* are parts of the process. As one participant summarized:

“You have nothing to lose, only to win. Trust the process and just try.”

The audience resonated with the idea that *transformation comes from newcomers*, from fresh ideas unafraid to question the status quo. The only viable future, as several speakers emphasized, *is a circular future.*

Inspiring Ripple Effects

The session left a strong impression at Impact Day. Many participants shared that they were inspired to integrate the BioBoosters open innovation model into their own organizations. The combination of the live panel with the BioBoosters exhibition stand at the event created a powerful touchpoint – sparking new conversations, connections, and potential partnerships.

The Big Takeaway

The BioBoosters team left Tallinn with renewed energy and a clear message: solving real problems through bio-based innovation is not just possible – it’s already happening across our regions. What it takes is openness, courage, and collaboration across borders.
