The launch webinar gathered more than fifty participants interested in the subject of sustainable development and innovation in the trade fair and exhibition industry. During the presentations by Beata Kozyra Ph.D. (Member of the Board of the Polish Chamber of Exhibition Industry) and Anna Woźna PH.D. (Wrocław University of Science and Technology) participants were provided with comprehensive knowledge on the current trends and good practices related to the green transformation in the exhibition and exhibition industry in Europe and in the world and very inspiring examples of the introduction of bio-based products, which is an extremely important step towards the replacement of fossil fuel-based materials. Details of the Challenge were presented by Małgorzata Róg-Giacosa (Marketing Director of Targi Kielce).
What is Targi Kielce and what is the Challenge about?
Targi Kielce is the second organizer of trade fairs and exhibitions in Central and Eastern Europe. During the year holds 70 fairs and exhibitions and 700 conferences. In 2022 Targi Kielce was visited by over 310,000 guests, exhibitors and visitors.
Targi Kielce orders and consumes approx. 100 thousand square meters of carpets per year! The challenge is to propose innovative and more environmentally friendly product and/or technological solutions for covering the surface of various types of floors for the exhibition industry, implementing the principles of circularity. We are looking for a bio-based product with similar properties to the currently used carpets or a recycling technology that will result in a product that can be used by Targi Kielce or other entities in the existing or new value chain.
The organizers invite companies, start up’s, groups of scientists and all innovators to join and send their concept of solutions that would help to solve the challenge.
