Beach-SOS at the Littoral Conference 2024: Highlighting the integration of Climate Change into Beach Management

EUCC-D represented the project Beach-SOS at the Littoral Conference 2024, held in Constanta, Romania. This international event brought together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from across Europe to discuss the pressing challenges European coastal areas are facing.

As part of the session on Climate Change Adaptation Strategies, EUCC-D presented Beach-SOS‘s innovative approach to integrating climate adaptation measures into beach management and coastal tourism planning. The presentation emphasized the crucial role of climate adaptation in safeguarding the future of tourism.

Key project methodologies were introduced, including collaborations with pilot regions in Germany, Latvia, and Denmark to exchange best practices and local knowledge. Stakeholder workshops were also emphasized as a vital tool for fostering collaboration, raising awareness, and sharing expertise. Additionally, the development of practical indicators to measure the impacts of climate change on beaches was discussed.
