The final Bascil project partner meeting took place in Gdańsk, Poland
23 June 2025
As this was the final joint working meeting, much of the focus was on reviewing activities, deliverables, and project reporting. The final version of the appreciated Bascil manual “Practical Solutions for Designing Culinary Tourism Services Provided by Local Food Producers in the Baltic Sea Region” was also presented.
As with all previous partner meetings, an important and much-valued part of the gathering was the opportunity to visit the host partner’s local small-scale businesses. These visits offer insights into the diverse range of enterprises involved in the Bascil Project. Meeting the entrepreneurs and hearing about their journeys and development during the project has been truly inspiring and enriching for all Bascil partners.
This time, participants enjoyed visits to the honey producer Miodolandia, cider tasting at Tabun, which also offers pony rides at their horse farm in Otomin, and a visit to Smaki Kaszub, a business specialising in traditional regional dishes.
The group also got to experience the Kashubian Cranberry Trail, take part in a live cooking session, and enjoy a coffee break featuring a tasting of Kashubian coffee – “Brejka” – and local pancakes known as “Ruchanki.”
At the end of November, Bascil’s final workshop and conference will take place at Krinova, Sweden. An exciting study visit to Ivögården is also being planned in connection with the event. Ivögården is one of the Swedish businesses supported by Krinova within the Bascil Project, and Petter Jeppsson, who took part in the Gdańsk meeting, gave a presentation introducing Ivögården to all project partners.
