Technical details

At the end of September, all partners in the Bascil project gathered once again, this time in Tartu, Estonia, with a focus on sharing exciting experiences, challenges, and results from the summer pilot tests.

Partners and representatives from associated organisations first evaluated and discussed their varied experiences and outcomes in smaller groups – both positive results and challenges from the summer’s tests at pilot companies. This important knowledge and experience were then shared with all project partners. The results and experiences will now be summarised in a pilot report.

Interesting and inspiring study visits to local producers in the Jögevamaa region were also on the agenda. Among others, the apple grower Kodas, who, in addition to cider production, now also handles leftovers from apple production and has developed a completely new purée product naturally rich in fibre. Honey producer Meemeistrid has started event activities, and dairy farmer Andre Farm has begun cheese production.

Now, halfway into the Bascil project, the focus will be on further developing the companies, marketing, and collaboration to create larger destinations together, attracting more visiting tourists.

Tourism consultant Hubert Gonera and Krinova team member Niclas Fjellström presented the final version of the Bascil manual, introducing the business model/solution targeted at local food networks interested in designing and launching joint culinary tourism offers or product routes, including developing and promoting the region as a culinary tourism destination.

Finally, all partners made presentations and shared their initial ideas regarding the concept and marketing ideas for the local or regional tourism product.
