Why do we need strong cooperation within the boating community in the Baltic Sea Region?

Within the recent two years of realizing the Baltic Sustainable Boating 2030 #BSB2030 Project our Team has been confronted with many inspiring ideas streaming from the boating community.

During various encounters with marina operators, harbour masters, tourist sector employees, policy-makers, representatives of local and regional administration, NGOs and the boaters themselves, we discussed the challenges, opportunities, threats and drawbacks of the Baltic boating. All of them inspired further ideas on the directions and scope of the Baltic Sea development as a sustainable cross-border tourism destination. Moreover, they enabled us to formulate concrete actions we could or should take to enhance this process.

We would like to share some of the thoughts coming from the Region’s boating community that shaped our understanding of Baltic boating, which we all hope is heading to be the most sustainable boating destination, in environmental, social and economic way!
