From Cork to Åland: e-Nav Visibility in May

23 June 2025
Technical details

May was a particularly active and visible month for the e-Nav project, with several key events highlighting our ongoing progress and regional engagement.

The month began with a visit to Stavanger, Norway, where Antti Värre (Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, SAMK) and Steffan Bram (RISE) presented feedback from the project’s initial pilot sessions. This took place at the Hydrographic Services and Standards Committee (HSSC) meeting, providing a valuable platform to share the outcome of our first pilot sessions and feedback thereof with international experts and stakeholders.

In mid-May, e-Nav was prominently represented at the European Maritime Days (EMD) in Cork, Ireland, held from 21–23 May. The project featured as part of a shared exhibition stand under the umbrella of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region’s Policy Area (PA) Safe & Sustainability, offering a valuable opportunity to connect with maritime professionals, policymakers, and innovators from across Europe.

Meanwhile, from 20–22 May, the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme Conference took place in Tampere, Finland. The e-Nav project was physically represented at the event, further strengthening ties within the Interreg community and connecting with other projects in the region.

Concurrently, the Maritime Days of Åland were held on 21–22 May. At this event, e-Nav was showcased by representatives from Policy Area Ship, alongside other Interreg-funded initiatives. This offered another opportunity to highlight the project’s objectives and achievements to a diverse maritime audience.

Overall, May was packed with great opportunities for networking while also showcasing the project and its importance for the safety, sustainability and efficiency of maritime traffic in the Baltic Sea.
