Summer School on Advanced Technologies for Water Treatment
24 June 2025
Worldwide, the number of people living along the coast is rapidly increasing, resulting in increased wastewater discharges, which is a major source of emerging pollutants such as microplastics, heavy metals, and active pharmaceutical ingredients entering aquatic environments. Environmental pollution by these pollutants has become a serious problem in the Baltic Sea Region.
The summer school aims to showcase the ideas to increase the efficiency of emerging pollutants removal in surface waters by using advanced oxidation technologies combined with biofilms and fungal treatment. The case studies, laboratories, and technological solutions will be implemented within the course.
