Digital Neighbourhood @ Children's Museum Hamburg

23 April 2024
Technical details

UrbanTestbeds.JR joined the March school holiday programme of Klick Children’s Museum in Hamburg, Germany.

Children aged 9 to 12 engaged in the digital discovery of their neighbourhood with Klick being a cultural point of gravity.

3D simulations, aerial photos, maps, urban data layers and annotation tools of Hamburg’s geo portal helped understand their neighbourhood in regard to urban greening, noise and (safe or unsafe) pathways. Favorite places and those to be changed were identified, discussed and annotated.

This digital engagement approach will be continued in the brand new Children’s Architecture Center Hamburg, a spin-off of the Children’s museum, focusing on architecture and urban development.
