Disposable package-free Ministry cafe in Tallinn
09 April 2025
In collaboration with the joint building of ministries in Tallinn, the Change(K)now! project partner Baltic Restaurants Estonia AS tested the removal of disposable packaging for take-away food in the ministry cafe.
What was tested and evaluated:
- Introduction of reusable options for take-away: own box, Ringo deposit box or reusable box that can be purchased at the cafe (2€).
When:
- February 2025
Aim:
To test the feasibility of stop using single use packaging at the Ministry cafe.
Results:
The pilot showed that removing single-use packaging can significantly reduce waste while maintaining service efficiency. By offering several reusable options, users quickly adapted to new routines and reusable systems became the default choice.
