20 June 2025
Technical details

Rix Riga Airport tested the hydrogen-powered baggage and towing tractor MULAG Comet 4FC with the GLOBE XLP80 hydrogen fuel cell in real airfield conditions. The test was conducted as part of the BSR HyAirport project.

Together with other airports in the Baltic Sea region, they are evaluating new technologies, collecting data, and gaining hands-on experience to support informed future decisions aimed at reducing emissions and meeting Net Zero targets.
Thank you to MULAG, GLOBE Fuel Cell Systems, HySol and Latvian Hydrogen Association for the collaboration during the testing phase, including training, hydrogen refueling, operations, and data collection.
