Workshop: Active Mobility Throughout the Year - From Strategy to Action

Project: BATS
Physical Meeting
BATS partner Gate21 is hosting a physical workshop on walking and cycling all year round.

Description

How can we ensure that cycling and walking remain attractive modes of transport through the dark and cold winter months? In the cold and dark months, the number of road users who choose walking and cycling to drastically decreases. Traditional urban planning is often geared for cars and good weather, leaving a “hole” in sustainable mobility during the winter months.

Come to the workshop on 25. March, where we will exchange experience on the best methods and strategies to make active mobility attractive in the winter months. We want your experiences, barriers and input in games – and we want to talk about how we can scale the solutions in your municipality.

During the workshop we will dive into:

  • Hands-on work with new tools that support active mobility to become an attractive choice in the winter seasons.
  • Monitoring, evidence and how data collection and KPIs can qualify your future investments in bicycle and walking infrastructure.
  • Experiences from the Baltic Sea region: Kalundborg, Umeå, Hamburg, Gdynia, Klaipeda, Harju and Porvoo tell about their innovative initiatives for active mobility in winter.
