Description
Towards dynamic procurement of local food in small towns is the theme for the workshop. With the support of procurement specialists, farmers and food producers from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Sweden, so far many good ideas and actions have been discussed and shared to increase the share of organic, sustainable and locally produced in school meals.
In this workshop we’ll continue to discuss and develop solutions on how to gradually increase the proportion of food purchase from local and small producers, using dynamic purchasing system. How to procure more small and supplier-adapted volumes and products.
Why is Dynamic Food Procurement important?
Flexible frameworks, closer partnerships with local distributors and producers and dynamic purchasing systems are all steps in the right direction towards a future where our demand for food will be much better aligned with sustainable farming outputs and even able to foster continual improvement. With a little imagination and determination, public sector spend can overcome the bureaucratic barriers and be used as a force for good.
Why participate?
Each region is different and there is no one solution that fits all. These co-creating activities are meant to adjust solutions to unique local contexts and provide support and solutions for procurement specialists, municipalities, farmers and schools.
Are you a procurement specialist, school chef, municipality representative, representing farmers or involved in some other way in the school food procurement? Here, you all gather in one place, sit down together at the virtual table, get inspired and be part of the development, to find solutions to common obstacles and come up with incentives.
To play your part, we invite you to register here to take a seat at the online table.
