Description
The Baltic Sea Region features more than 1000 leisure harbours and a unique set of varied leisure boating destinations which makesthis region an attractive arena for boating tourism. Despite having the high-class
infrastructure and an attractive destination profile, the Baltic Sea Region still has untapped potential to increase visibility amongst international competitors and strengthen its profile as a sustainable boating destination. Taking these strengths and future development possibilities as the point of departure, this interactive panel discussion provides an input for co-creating a Vision for sustainable boating in the Baltic
Sea Region in the framework of the Baltic Sustainable Boating 2030 (BaltSusBoating2030) project. One of the aims of the BaltSusBoating2030 project is to initiate a collaborative dialogue on sustainable boating tourism development in the Baltic Sea Region. It aims to establish the Baltic Sea as a world-class sustainable boating destination that protects and enhances its unique marine environment and contributes to the overall well-being of the region\'s communities and economies. The Vision serves as a point of departure for developing a Sustainability Roadmap for leisure boating in the Baltic Sea Region.
