Supported by Nature will be showcased during the 5th World Congress of Biosphere Reserves in China.

Description

From 22–25 September 2025, over 2,000 participants will gather in Hangzhou, China, for the 5th World Congress of Biosphere Reserves, hosted by UNESCO and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The event brings together scientists, policymakers, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and biosphere practitioners to shape the future of UNESCO’s 750+ biosphere reserves across 136 countries.

This major international congress takes place every 10 years and aims to set priorities, foster collaboration, and define a new Global Action Plan for biosphere reserves.

We’re excited to share that Lars Korn from Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve will represent Supported by Nature at an exhibition booth during the event. In addition, Johanna MacTaggart, Project Strategist and Toomas Kokovkin, West Estonian Archipelago Biosphere Reserve will participate in the congress and help strengthen the visibility and reach of our project in the global biosphere community.
