Riding the wave: Ensuring Water Security in BSR Through Sustainable and Resilient Water Management

Project: City Blues
Virtual Meeting & Physical Meeting
Panel discussion at Europe Forum in Turku, Finland

Description

One of the cornerstones of Europe's sustainable future is water security. The European Commission has highlighted it by making “Towards a water-resilient Europe” the main theme of this year's European Green Week. The Interreg Baltic Sea Region’s programme period 2021 – 2027 focuses strongly on the development of sustainable water management practices in municipalities and cities.

In our panel, we will bring up solutions on how to secure a sustainable and diverse water management in the Baltic Sea region from the perspective of both the environment and citizens' safety. We present challenges and solutions for the use of recycled water, for managing seasonal changes in wastewater production and what kind of nature-based solutions there are.

The panel is part of Europe Forum 2024. The entire three-day event can also be attended live online.

The panel is also one of the EU Green Week Partner Events.
