Policy Implementation Dialogue on Reducing Hazardous Substances in Construction

A high-level stakeholder dialogue will take place in Vienna under the framework of the NonHazCity 3 project to address the critical issue of reducing hazardous substances in construction. The event will focus on promoting sustainable building practices that align with the principles of climate neutrality and circularity. Participants will explore solutions for minimizing pollutants and associated risks in construction materials and processes.

Key topics to be discussed include:

• Ensuring information availability about hazardous substances in construction materials until the end-of-life stage.
• Enhancing the interaction between Green Public Procurement, the Construction Products Regulation, and the EU Taxonomy Regulation to promote tox-free construction.
• Supporting municipalities and citizens in the procurement of safer construction products and buildings.
