MI-RAP Roundtable at Tallin Music Week
Music Industry Innovation: Are We Doing Enough? (Component 2 Innovation and Networking)
The session will begin with two presentations:
Introduction to MI-RAP – Fabian Baßenhoff(Hamburg Music Business) will present MI-RAP, an international initiative dedicated to fostering resilience and innovation in the music industry.
TechTrack Pilot Presentation – Marili Randla (Music Estonia) will introduce TechTrack, Estonia’s first dedicated music tech program, sharing insights from its pilot phase and exploring how such initiatives can bridge the gap between music and technology.
The session will explore whether we are doing enough to drive innovation in the music industry and how cities and organizations can play a more active role in supporting it. Industry professionals, innovators, and city representatives will discuss challenges like cross-sector collaboration, barriers to innovation, and the evolving needs of music businesses. The conversation will also address gaps in current support systems and explore how initiatives like MI-RAP can bridge these gaps, focusing on what the industry expects from innovation ecosystems, such as funding, networking, and policy support. The goal is to provide actionable insights and spark ideas for fostering sustainable innovation in the music sector.
Music Industry Resilience Acceleration Programme (MI-RAP) is co-financed by the European Union and supported by UNESCO Tallinn City of Music.
The event is part of the MI-RAP project co-funded by the EU programme Interreg Baltic Sea Region.
